A portfolio film capturing the memorial experience at the Polish War Cemetery in Breda, where Kinkorn brings the story of General Stanisław Maczek and the liberation of the city to life through space, image and narrative.

The project weaves architecture and storytelling into one continuous experience of remembrance.

At the rear of the Polish cemetery in Breda, the story unfolds of General Stanisław Maczek, who led the forces that helped liberate the city and save many of its inhabitants. Kinkorn translates this history into a layered spatial experience in which personal accounts and collective memory come together.

Moving through the site, visitors encounter traces of encounters between civilians and soldiers, embedded within the architecture itself. The journey of the liberators—from their flight from Poland, through military training in Edinburgh, to the landings in Normandy and the liberation of Breda—gradually reveals itself as a continuous narrative shaped by movement and place.

In the film, I focused on conveying this interplay between architecture, memory and storytelling. By following the transitions between spaces and perspectives, the narrative becomes something that is not only observed, but physically experienced as you move through it.
