A portfolio film capturing an installation on Schokland, where Kinkorn translates the island’s layered history into a series of sculptural storytelling objects. Spread across five artificial mounds (terpen), the project connects past, present and future through figures that reflect the shifting relationship between land, water and life.

On this former island in the Zuiderzee, Kinkorn developed a series of works in which human and ecological narratives come together. Each object brings two perspectives into dialogue: that of a former inhabitant and that of an animal, revealing how life on and around Schokland has continuously transformed over time.

In this film, I focused on conveying that sense of layering and coexistence. By placing the objects within their landscape and following their interaction within the space, a rhythm emerges in which past and future gradually overlap. The result is a visual translation of a place where water is not only a threat, but also a force that shapes what is to come.
